School History
San Roque National High School began as an annex of Navotas Municipal High School. The increase of enrollment produced more classes; thus, in 1992 at Kadiwa center an extension school was stood. This was through the effort of Mrs. Cecilia M. Saenz (former NMHS principal), LGU and Mr. Felipe del Rosario Jr. The Kadiwa building and lot were donated by Mr. Francis Tiu Laurel which housed the third year and fourth year students only.
The Kadiwa Building structure was the house of the third year and fourth year students for past years until the increase of enrollment yielded to the complete four-year level of secondary education. Consequently, on December 19, 2000, San Roque National High School was established as a separate school. It was through the solid effort of Mrs. Josefa Maglaya Pablo and her strong determination that overcame the eleven rejections of its establishment because of the school’s small area and its sunken middle part. Nevertheless, the school acquired independence and later on its own three-story building.
In the succeeding years, San Roque National High School has accommodated increasing number of students from its neighboring barangay. Thus, the growing student population paved the way to the improvement of the school facilities and services through the efforts of the school leaders, teachers, parent council, local government of Navotas , business sectors and other stakeholders.
Through the years, it has remained a second home to the Rocheans. It continuously improves its standard of instruction, facilities and accessible services to its learners and community. Part of its growth and expansion is the integration of Grade 11 and 12 of the Senior High School curriculum. In 2016, SRNHS Senior High School Unit opened its door to the first batch of senior high school students who took General Academic and Tech-Voc Strands.
The school went through the diligent hands and leadership of school principals namely: Mrs. Corazon D. Andrade, Mrs. Josefina M. Pablo, Dr. Zenaida SD. Singson and Dr. Cristina Castillo-Miclat. Presently, the school is under the administration of Mrs. Joji R. Fernando. With different school projects under each administration, the school has evolved into a community where learning is child- centered, dynamic, practical, relevant and enduring.
SRNHS has a yearly increase of 11.7% percent for the last three school years. Presently, it has a total population of 3400 with 64 sections from Junior high School and 20 sections from senior high school who attend both modular and on-line learning.
